Black Tie

2021

Black Tie was a devised physical theatre piece which had an emphasis on the ensemble work, compositions in space and authenticity in the expression and character work. The interdisciplinary piece was composed through pictorial symbolism, choreographed movement, live music and text - exploring family relationships predetermined by obsession, discontent and abuse which debated family values and the damaging limits of our behaviour. As inspiration for Black Tie, we used texts from Festen (David Eldridge) and August Osage County (Tracy Letts).

The text is was written by the ensemble. As an artistic choice, we used our own names on stage, thus I played the part of Henna.
